FILM COMPOSER/ SOUND DESIGNER/ MUSIC PRODUCER
Originally a native of the California Bay Area, Richard moved down to Los Angeles to receive a B.A in Music (Media Composition) at Cal State Northridge, one of nation's top ranked music programs. While studying, he was asked to tour the U.S as a keyboard player for hire, playing 35 dates for a local L.A band. His studies led him to write for various films, as well as an early project shown at the famed Beijing International Film Festival. His work was described by some to be that of a possible successor to Cliff Martinez.
While in his last semester at CSUN, he was asked based on his music & sound design capabilities to become an assistant to Paul Haslinger, one of Hollywood's top composers (UNDERWORLD, INTO THE BLUE, FEAR OF THE WALKING DEAD). With Haslinger, he collaborated on scores and drum programming on blockbusters such as PROM NIGHT (SONY) and DEATH RACE (UNIVERSAL) as well as loop & sound design for video games X-MEN ORIGINS WOLVERINE and NEED FOR SPEED: CARBON. After learning much from his mentor within the business Richard has since moved on to work under his own name scoring trailers for RLJ Entertainment & movies for Ruthless Pictures (THE BLACKWATER VAMPIRE with Bill Oberst & PARANORMAL MOVIE with Kevin Farley).
He has recently scored the theme for
HALO: THE FALLEN, in which the VFX team for The Hobbit has worked on. He is also known in the electronic world for producing dense remixes & originals under the moniker MAX PRESHER .
